Is the Samsung Galaxy A54 an affordable yet feature-filled phone? Is it a worthy contender for other mobiles in the Galaxy A lineup? Does it provide a top-notch user experience? You are searching for the answers to these questions. Right? Let us present a Samsung A54 review to potential buyers. Before buying the Galaxy A54, take a few minutes to go through our genuine review. (you can also read our Galaxy A55 review)
Samsung A54 Review- Design
Samsung A54 rocks a premium design but has a similarity with Galaxy S23. Like other Galaxy mobiles, the A54 comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The colorful surface is slightly glossy and resistant to fingerprints and smudges. With a floating camera array and flat sides, the design reminds you of the Galaxy S23. However, you will find a bolder and brighter version with Galaxy A54.
The overall construction feels solid, but it is comfortable to hold the mobile. But, the plastic frame appears to be chunkier. The IP67-certified design is resistant to water and dust.
Galaxy A54’s SIM slot is on the top edge. The right-hand side includes the volume rocker and power button. The bottom portion includes multiple speakers and a USB-C port.
Display- Samsung A54 5G Review

Most Samsung A54 reviews from real customers have revealed that the display is similar to its predecessors. However, Samsung has strategically made a few upgrades to the A54 display for a better viewing experience.
For instance, the aspect ratio has been upgraded to 19.5:9 for a Full HD+ display. We have experienced consistent image sharpness with this aspect ratio.
There is a Super AMOLED panel delivering vibrant colors and good contrast. The maximum brightness of the screen can reach 200 nits. There will be no issue with outdoor visibility.
The refresh rate is 120Hz, which is faster than that of Google Pixel 7a (90Hz refresh rate). The resolution of A54 is 2,340-by-1,080 pixels. Another amazing feature is the under-display fingerprint reader that allows biometric locking for security. You may also use the face unlock feature using the front-facing camera at the top of the display.
Galaxy A54 Performance Review
With 6GB of RAM, the Galaxy A54 Samsung mobile runs on the Exynos 1380 processor. Exynos 1380 chipset is an updated version, which guarantees solid performance. Galaxy A54 comes with Cortex-A55 efficiency-focused cores and Cortex-A78 performance-focused cores. It denotes a slight boost in performance.
We have also reviewed the mobile’s graphics rendering ability. Most users claimed that the mobile averaged 13fps, which is a bit lower than Google Pixel Pixel 7a (19fps). So, in terms of frame rates, we cannot say A54 is a high-end model.
The Samsung mobile runs on Android 13 and offers 4-year OS updates. The phone comes with One UI 5.1 that allows you to swipe out your favorite apps. You will also find an option for choosing the Samsung apps during setup. However, there are also extra pre-loaded third-party offerings that should be removed later to avoid bloatware.
Samsung A54 Camera Review
Samsung always prioritizes the cameras of its Galaxy lineup. Samsung A54’s camera is almost like the previous models, but there are a few tweaks. The main camera is a 50MP unit. Other features include 5MP macro and 12MP ultrawide cameras.
The lens comes with 23mm focal length and an f/1.8 aperture. The ultra-wide camera has a pixel size of around 1.12µm. As the focus is fixed, you should not use it for closeups.
The selfie lovers can also use a 32MP front-facing camera, which is found in most models in the A5x lineup.
While testing the mobile, we found excellent daylight photos. There is no issue with contrast, colors, and white balance. You can also use the zoom selector of the camera (we prefer the 2x setting). However, we have noticed a slight variation in color processing.

Should You Buy Samsung Galaxy A54 5G?
Samsung Galaxy A54 stands out with its colorful display, reliable performance, and premium design. But, it could have a smaller screen bezel and a faster chip. Still, we have found no strong reasons for not recommending the phone. The cameras and software are nicer and have met our expectations.
