Looking for a pocket-friendly Samsung phone that exceeds your expectations? Galaxy A23 might be your next investment. With a reliable performance, solid camera setup, and sleek design, the phone delivers everything you want. Still, if you want more from the A series, we recommend checking powerful siblings, such as Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55. Let us present a comprehensive and genuine Galaxy A23 review. We have analyzed Galaxy A23 customer reviews and feedback to determine if the phone is worthy of your investment.
Galaxy A23 Review- Design and Build Quality
The latest Galaxy A series and S series mobiles look almost identical. Samsun has designed a stylish cover and maintained simplicity in the overall design. The mobile has a single-piece rear panel ensuring a seamless design. The thick plastic frame is slightly curved and has a matte finish.
But, smudges and fingerprints may stick on the rear side especially if you have chosen the black version. If these issues concern you, opt for other colors (like blue and peach). Like other phones, Galaxy A23 offers IP67 ratings.
The Galaxy A23 5G mobile comes with a tri-card slot that accepts a microSD card and 2 nano-SIMs.
The side portion includes the power button (used as a fingerprint reader) and a volume rocker button. The bottom section is designed for the loudspeaker and the USB-C connector.
However, we have not found much to discuss the front part of the Galaxy A23 mobile. Although the V-shaped notch looks outdated, it is often found in most low-priced devices.
Galaxy A23 Display Review
We are not much satisfied with the display quality of the Samsung Galaxy A23.
The screen size is around 6.6 inches, and Samsung has upgraded HD to a Full HD screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. On the contrary, its competitors also come with a 120Hz FHD Super AMOLED display.
The Display Settings let you select from different modes like
- Standard Mode- Fixed at 60Hz
- Adaptive Modes- 120Hz for compatible apps
Most consumers claimed that the screen looked dull. In other words, the content does not appear lively because of the narrow color gamut. We think it could be due to the TFT panel. Nevertheless, the way to filter blue light is much unnatural. Especially if you like to use the dark mode while operating the mobile, A23’s display may not please you.
Gorilla Glass 5 is used for protecting the screen. Another important feature is that the display is compatible with a wider color gamut. However, there is no compatibility for HDR videos.
Samsung has not added ambient light and proximity sensors to this phone. So, you need to look for alternatives if you prioritize these sensors.
Galaxy A23 Review Battery Life
With a 5,000mAh battery, Galaxy A23 5G allows multi-day activities. Many consumers claimed that a fully charged battery works consistently for around 138 hours. This is true only for basic activities like web browsing, phone calls, and video playback. It takes around an hour to fully charge a battery. As the Samsung Galaxy A23 is a low-priced mobile, this battery performance is expected.

25W fast wired charging is compatible with this mobile. However, the package includes only a USB-C cable. So, you need to buy a separate 25W Samsung PPS adapter.
Galaxy A23 Camera Review
The camera setup of A23 includes a front camera with a resolution of around 8MP. The rear camera includes
- A 50 MP main camera
- A 2 MP macro camera
- 5 MP ultrawide camera
- 2 MP depth sensor
The camera app works almost in the same way as other mobiles. Swipe the screen left and right to switch between modes. You may also rearrange the modes from the viewfinder. To make a seamless transition from rear to front cameras, make vertical swipes.
The upper left corner shows the settings icon, which lets you control the camera. There is no separate setting screen for videos and photos. The Auto HDR can be turned on or off.
You can explore a few other fun features, such as AR stickers and Deco Pic. The main camera lets you use Pro mode.
Galaxy A23 Software and Performance Review
While booting the new phone, we found Android 12 and One UI 4 with this mobile. However, after managing the initial setup, it showed a message for updating to Android 13, which offers a One UI 7 interface. This UI is smoother and faster than One UI 4 and provides a lot of features.
It is easy to access notification-related controls. There is a shortcut to access the internal notification settings of the app. The Lock screen also shows the notification cards. You can stack the widgets with a swipe.
From a privacy perspective, Android 13 satisfied users because clipboard data is deleted within a short time.
The phone comes with an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC. If you need more RAM, choose the 8GB version. The 128GB storage is expandable.
Game enthusiasts can use Galaxy A23, as the phone ensures a high frame rate and smooth graphics. We experienced only minor frame drops occasionally. However, do not set Medium frame rates and balanced graphics. These settings will not provide a good gameplay experience.
